Our client was a privately held Canadian firm that had been led by the founder for 3 decades. It was time for him to pull back, so he hired Mandrake to find his replacement.
The strategy was to find a practitioner who could lead. Owing to the small size of the business, our Managing Director had to be able to do it all: sell, deliver, coach, mentor, develop product, advance best practices and recruit. The mandate focussed on professional services leaders who were well rounded practice leaders.
The winning candidate had previously held a series of increasingly strong leadership roles in several multinational Human Capital Services businesses. To her, this mandate was an opportunity to bring her knowledge and expertise to a smaller firm where she could drive the bus and earn some equity. To the satisfaction of clients, staff, and ownership she integrated well and moved the needle.
