Global Mining Company Hires V.P. PR & Communication

In the process of purchasing a competitor, our Client, a global mining/resource leader with large, reserves and market capitalization had a need to identify a strong communications leader who could manage the sensitive nature of the merger; as such this PR and Communications Executive Search was confidential. Candidates equip with superior organizational, interpersonal and communications skills and strict confidentiality were critical competencies.

Situation
Time sensitivity for the proposed acquisition shortened the timeline of the hire.   Public Company, Investor Relations and global experience was desired as well as expertise with preparing and managing media kits, proposals and communications strategies; press releases, media advisories.

Approach
The experienced PR professional more than ever before is involved in the shaping of messages and strategies for clients as well as getting these messages distributed in the most efficient manner possible.

Result
After meeting with the Director of Human resources, we identified the targeted list of potential candidates.  Due to the sensitive nature of the acquisition, all candidates were to be screened and presented under strict confidence.   The short-listed candidates where presented and reviewed with the client.   Subsequent to the signing of a non-disclosure agreement the short-listed candidates were interviewed by the client.    After a thorough global search, a candidate was identified.  The candidate brought direct industry experience and strong communications expertise.   It was decided that the announcement was to be made after the acquisition.
