We were hired by our client to build a marketing and product development infrastructure to enable the organization to realize its potential growth.  With a patent unique to the company, and unprecedented demand both geographically and via numerous retail channels, it was critical to establish a team to facilitate the growth potential.

Headquartered in the Toronto area, this fast growing company offers trend-right products to the North American department and chain stores.  The organization was also having great success through various retail outlets with products  sold through numerous trade channels, including: Decorative/Gift Retailers, Mass Merchants, TV Shopping Networks, Department Stores, Home Centers, Drug/Grocery Stores and Specialty Gift Stores.  Their products are sold in the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and South Africa.  In a nutshell, demand for the product line was exploding.  The potential for increased sales was significant and a marketing and product development infrastructure

The client needed talent with experience in home décor products and interacting with manufacturers in China.  The candidates had to be able to work in an exceedingly fast paced environment, with explosive growth, and very little structure. The candidates needed to travel to China on a quarterly basis.

The lead marketing role was filled by an individual with an MBA from an American Ivy league university.  Professional experience included tier one Consumer Packaged Goods, the Toy Industry and the Entertainment Industry and plenty of experience sourcing product from China.  The Product Development Managers were recruited from high profile organizations in Canada that manufacture and sell home décor products, and again, they had expertise in dealing with China.
