Construction Equipment Rental Company Hires Sales & Marketing Executive

Situation
We were hired hired to find a Sales and Marketing Executive for a newly acquired but long established construction equipment rental company. In operation for over 50 years, the company is the leading provider in Toronto and the surrounding areas. The private equity firm acquiring the business brought in a CEO investor with the mandate to reorganize the company and foster its organic growth. Business growth would require sales and marketing leadership from an individual with B2B experience who could lead a diverse group of seasoned business development and sales managers. They would need to understand the business channel, not necessarily in rental provision but in selling to construction/ industrial customers. It was critical that the new hire would act as an owner in the business.

Approach
Our search strategy in this project included an extensive search of the industrial equipment and construction sector. We directed the search on regional operations since the Ontario-based client is focused on local customers.

Result
A targeted search of the Ontario marketplace yielded a candidate with the background an experience our client wanted. The hire was an accomplished professional in the industrial supply chain marketplace with a 25 year history of sales and marketing excellence. In their new role, they managed the sales force as well as the development and implementation of sales, training and bonus plans and programs. This highly effective individual has become the company's Vice President Sales & Marketing.
